Ministries

If you are unable to commit to serving in a ministry, there are short term and occasional ministries you can serve in.

Children

Sundays

Sunday School (Nursery - 5th grade) 9:00am - 10:15am | Education Bldg
Learn from the Bible and be transformed by the good news of Jesus Christ.

Children Worship (Nursery - 5th grade) 10:45am - 12:00pm | Education Bldg
We worship the Lord through singing, praying, and age-appropriate sermons from God’s Word.

Fridays

Awana (K - 6th grade) 7:15pm - 9:15pm (except the last Friday of each month during the school year) | Education Bldg
Children are discipled to know, love and serve Jesus with memorizing Bible verses, completing a Bible-based handbook, playing games, and making friends.

We focus on learning God’s Word, making friends and having fun. Our goal is that all children throughout the world will come to know, love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ. Registration is currently closed. For additional information about our AWANA ministry, please refer to our AWANA Guide.

Youth (Unikoi)

6th - 12th Grade

Fridays 7:30pm - 9:30pm | Hope Center, Education Bldg
Every Friday except the last Friday of the month

Unikoi is a combination of words that means "one fellowship," and we believe that if we walk in the light, as God is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin.

Knowing that this time of life is precious and vital, Unikoi is marked by a commitment to God’s Word. We are convicted that God’s Word is the means by which people come to saving faith in Christ, and the means by which we are transformed and sanctified.

Young Singles (Doulos)

Doulos Ministry exists to equip young adult singles to fully steward this season of life as bondservants (doulos) of Christ: to serve the intergenerational church, to build a vibrant community, and to live as light to a fallen world. The ministry consists of two parts:

  1. Small groups where you can build deeper, life-on-life relationships

  2. Young singles hub where you will receive teaching and community

Family

God intended for local churches and families to partner together in forming future generations of Christ-followers. While both important, parents are irreplaceable and their committed influence and impact can last many lifetimes. Family Ministry endeavors to reach our students, train their leaders, and shepherd the parents to be the primary disciple-makers in the home through three strategic actions:

1. Connect families to FCBC Walnut and one another

2. Equip parents through teaching and ministry opportunities

3. Encourage congregations to partner together with families

50+ Ministry

50+ Ministry is a journey we take together to discover what God has intended us to be. We strive to become vibrant followers of Jesus so that we can finish well. We are living in an era where we, who are in our 50s and beyond, still have the capability to make an impact in the lives of others and contribute to the community.

In this journey, we hope to explore these five key topics:

  1. Dealing With Our Regrets in Life

  2. Handling Our Unfinished Business

  3. Growing Old Gracefully

  4. Leaving a Legacy

  5. Preparing to Meet Our Creator

Community and Small Groups

Community groups are always available to check out and provide opportunities to connect with others outside of Sunday service. Small groups require a commitment to FCBC Walnut and facilitate deeper sharing and accountability. Because they are capped for size, small groups are open for registration during Open Enrollment. There will be announcements in the Sunday bulletin when it’s time for Open Enrollment.

Elderly Fellowship

Lunch is served afterwards.

Our mission is to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being through - worship and studying God’s Word, health seminar, emotion management, interpersonal relationship, arts & craft, music, and body exercises, etc. Our end goal is to develop a vibrant community where members live a meaningful life of faith, hope and love that glorifies our Lord and benefits others.
